On May 7, Beijing time, in the third round of Group A of the 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup, China’s U17 women’s team defeated Thailand 6-0, securing a perfect group stage record and advancing to the quarterfinals as group winners. China’s quarterfinal opponent will be determined based on the results of other group matches scheduled for the following day.
In the 5th minute, Yang Lan delivered a cross from the sideline that sailed directly into the goal, giving China a 1-0 lead. In the 20th minute, Li Qiyan scored from close range to double the lead to 2-0. Just three minutes later, Xu Yue sent a cross from the baseline, and Cheng Wandi headed the ball into the net to make it 3-0.
In the 54th minute, Xu Yue again delivered a ball from the left flank to the far post, where Li Qiyan volleyed it home for a 4-0 lead. Four minutes later, Huang Qinyi dribbled past a defender just outside the box and fired a long-range shot to extend the lead to 5-0. In the 60th minute, Huang Qinyi drove down the left wing and slotted the ball into the net from a tight angle, completing her brace.
The match ended with China’s U17 women’s team winning 6-0 over Thailand.
